InsightExpress, a leading provider of digital marketing research solutions, just released an industry research paper on the recent trends of mobile consumers. According to the paper, text messaging is the no.1 weekly activity for smart phone users, ranking above mobile internet, email, games, and social networking among others.
The paper also notes that 1/3 of smart phone owners look for or use mobile coupons in-store.
InsightExpress also reported that 1/3 of consumers have signed up for some kind of text alert ranging from restaurant deals to weather alerts.
It’s amazing how mobile is affecting consumer behavior! And with an estimation of 7 trillion text messages to be sent in 2011, we can only expect these numbers to increase exponentially in the future.
